In the afternoon enjoy an excursion to San Daniele, well known for the incomparable taste of its exquisite prosciutto, which is said to be the most delicate in all of Italy. Today, enjoy a guided tour of the frescoed buildings, the Cathedral and the famous Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli, the mosaic school that has fostered artists from all over the world.

DAY 4: Thursday - SPILIMBERGO, SAN DANIELE DEL FRIULI, VALVASONE In the afternoon, after lunch in a lovely local restaurant, we visit the oldest family-run distillery in Nimis for grappa tasting, and close out the day with a tasting in the famed Collio wine region. Upon arrival in the town, we enjoy a guided tour and visit the main attractions such as the Devil's Bridge, Piazza Paolo Diacono and the Longobard Temple. Beforehand, we enjoy a visit to a local producer of the Friulian cake, " gubana". DAY 3: Wednesday - CIVIDALE DEL FRIULIĪfter breakfast, we spend the morning at Cividale del Friuli, a UNESCO heritage town, known for its lovely atmosphere when strolling around the narrow cobble-stone streets leading to the charming main square. On the top of San Giusto Hill, you will admire the remains of the Roman basilica and the beautiful Cathedral.īreak for a coffee in one of the many historical cafés of Trieste, meeting point of writers and intellectuals. Having being governed by the Habsburgs for centuries, here you can feel a typically “Mitteleuropean” atmosphere, and its stunning buildings, historical cafés and the cuisine have retained all the charms of that era.
